Vinyl fencing is a fantastic option if you don't want to deal with the staining and sealing that is necessary with a wood fence to keep it new. For this reason, it can often be one of the longest lasting fences! However, with every fence there are some basic steps needed to be taken to keep it looking fresh and clean. Below, we will discuss the two main methods for cleaning your vinyl fence.
The first method would be the DIY option of simply mixing equal parts vinegar and water into a small bucket and using a mister clean magic eraser to scrub the fence down. You should then be able to take a garden hose with a power nozzle to rinse the fence off and get it looking new again.
If this does not work, we recommend our second method of cleaning. Start by selecting a cleaner that is uniquely made for use on vinyl fences. Our go to cleaner is simple green fence and deck cleaner for its ability to target and lift algae and mildew that seem to be the main build up vinyl fences tend to accumulate. Pour the cleaner into the reservoir on your power washer and make sure to select the lowest pressure setting on the power washer before beginning and use the soap tip. This is extremely important as vinyl will break under normal output pressure. Let the product sit for a couple minutes before rinsing off. If algae remains you can repeat the process with the added step of using a soft brush or magic eraser before rinsing.
